A Photographer's Choice: An Unforgettable Proposal on San Giorgio Maggiore
In the enchanting city of Venice, on the serene island of San Giorgio Maggiore, a beautifully planned surprise proposal unfolded. What made this session particularly meaningful for me was the trust placed in me by the groom-to-be, who is himself a photographer. Being chosen by a fellow professional to document such a personal and emotional moment is always a true honor.

San Giorgio Maggiore proved once again to be one of the most special locations in Venice for a proposal. Away from the crowds yet facing the iconic skyline of St. Mark’s Square, the island offers privacy, elegance, and extraordinary light—ideal elements for both an intimate moment and timeless photographs. As the couple arrived, dressed in white and glowing with anticipation, the atmosphere felt calm and almost suspended in time.

I followed discreetly as the moment approached, waiting for the perfect instant. When he knelt and asked the question, her reaction was pure and spontaneous, a genuine expression of joy that only a surprise proposal can create. The answer, of course, was a heartfelt “yes.”

After the proposal, we took advantage of the setting for a relaxed engagement session, letting their emotions guide the images rather than posing or staging the moments. To conclude the experience, we moved to a quieter corner just steps away from St. Mark’s Square, proving once again that Venice still holds intimate spaces for those who know where to look.
