This recently engaged couple came from Canada to Venice, we started their photosession near their hotel in the island of Murano, location famous for the glass producing laboratories. The with a waterbus we went to Venice and concluded the joyfull engagement session of this palyfull couple just in time for a nice dinner (better enjoyed in two, no images of that)
The preaparation started at Palazzetto Madonna, from there we went by water taxi to Palazzo Cavalli (the guests used boots as there was high water) After the celebration we went by boat to Burano and then, after some portraits we took a taxi to have some more bridal portraits on the way to the hotel
Svetlana, her husband and a lovely 8 year old child were in Venice for short holiday but this did not prevent them from hiring a very good make up artist and to indulge in a lovestory photosession in Venice.
The hotel Danieli has been an excellent starting point, then we walked a bit and took a water taxi to experience Venice from the sea.
With Scott we planned the proposal on the Island of San Giorgio in orther to benefit from the quite atmosphere and from the view of Palazzo Ducale, afterwards we moved to the Giudecca island and then crossed Dorsoduro to reach San Mark's a square where a gondola was waiting for them , we greeted before as the gondola ride is way more romantic alone...
We arranged this surprise proposal session to finish a bit after sunset to benefit for a broad range of lighting conditions, Tim told me that his girlfirend loved water and boats so I reccomended the area overlooking the San Mark's basin and reccomended to walk along the saling boats being harboured there, an icing on the cake has been a water taxi for reaching Venice while creating romantic portraits.
It is always a pleasure to be the wedding photographer of happy couples that chose to get married in the intimacy of the closest relatives.
Something I particularly liked about this surprise wedding proposal is that the day Sanjeev chose for it was already a special day for his girfriend Kiran as it was her birtday.
So it has been possible to arrange a make up and a photography session without her suspecting (too much) that he was going to propose.
Ilaria, the make up artist was in the hotel when I reached them, then we went for a walk and a glass of wine in Venice and I was able to guide them towards a place that would have been relatively quiet and with a nice view (Punta della Dogana).
There I pretented to leave them alone and the proposal took place, a short photographic walk and they were ready to enjoy their evening as just engaged couple
The reportage of this wedding proposal starts a bit before the "big question" with the couple walking workards the agreed place: the girl was joyfully playing with her soon to be fiancé but he probably was a bit less relaxed.
Once she said yes he told her about the photography and we went on for a romantic walk aroudn Venice making more engagement images.
With this couple we had a very long walk in order to have more landmarks as the background of their prewedding photography in Venice , we started from Cannareggio and arrived in San Marco.
E-session in Venice, the terrace belongs to the hotel "La Calcina" a nice view in the lovely area of Dorsoduro
This long time couple suprised me with their joyful love, we started their anniversary photo session in the very early morning and had a cappuccino as soon as the cafè opened, as I discovered that they were both doctors we did part of the photosession in the museum of the local hospital among centuries old medicine books and instruments.
